The conference will take place in the SuperC building of the RWTH Aachen University, Templergraben 57, 52062 Aachen, Germany.


Transportation

 

How to get to SuperC by car

From Düsseldorf (A44) / Cologne (A4)

At the highway intersection Kreuz Aachen follow the signs to Heerlen / Antwerpen (A4).

Take exit number 2 Laurensberg / Richterich and turn right onto the expressway to Aachen.

Follow the road (L232) to the old city gate (Ponttor).

At the traffic light, turn right into Pontwall and take the first left (Wüllnerstraße).

The SuperC is located at the crossing Wüllnerstraße/Templergraben.

Please keep in mind that parking space is rare around the SuperC

 

How to get to SuperC by train

Aachen is linked to the international railway network. Every two hours, the high-speed train THALYS operates via Aachen between Paris and Cologne. Besides ICE trains run from Frankfurt to Brussels via Aachen. There are hourly direct connections via local trains to the cities of Cologne, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Siegen, Frankfurt/Main and Hamm. An hourly connection to Heerlen links Aachen to the Dutch railway system.

How to get to SuperC by bus

From the central train station there are busses going with a direct connection to SuperC. The busses either stop at the bus stop "Technische Hochschule" in front of the main building of the RWTH Aachen University next to the SuperC or at the bus stop "Driescher Gässchen" (a 3 minute walk from SuperC). The local operator is ASEAG (aseag.de).

Requesting a visa to enter Germany

 

You must submit your visa application and the required supporting documentation to the German Consulate/Embassy relevant to your country of residence.

Please include with your visa application documentation a Invitation Letter.

To request a letter of invitation in order to attend the symposium, please send us an email at nvmts2017@rwth-aachen.de indicating your name, gender, birth date, nationality, passport no., expiry date, address and German embassy or consulate to apply to for visa.

Fees for visa applications are at the responsibility of the delegate.

In August, the average temperature is 23,4°C (74,12°F). During summer it may rain in the afternoons.

Tipping in restaurants and bars is generally at 5-10%. Tipping taxi drivers is also a common practice.
